Expressing myself through drawing

Self-portrait

Expressing myself through drawing

Very lucky as a young teenager to attend Lower Merion High School in Ardmore Pennsylvania which had one of the best art departments in the United States.
One of our toughest assignments was to draw our own self portrait. I hope it looks like me.

I have developed a technique of drawing jewelry designs using that amazing background of technique I gained in my teens.

I use the same mechanical pencil, eraser, grid paper and lead that till this day after designing for over 30 years still works for me.

Drawing supplies

Obviously as a professional I often supply CAD drawings to my clients. Or the factories  generate the CAD designs when needed from my drawings.
But I think it’s critical a designer have a “tool” or “tools” to express their ideas as clearly as possible in a way they feel comfortable. For me the pencil is the connection.
